Matt Williams

NG3 President

I’ve been working with high school students since I graduated from UGA in 2002. God has blessed me with a wonderful wife, Jenny, a joyful son, Knox, a beautiful girl, Lyla and newborn baby Ryder.  My passion has always been reaching high school students where they are and connecting in a way that leads to a real change.

Dustin Mattox

NG3 Area Director & Grayson School Director
Family Pic 2015

I grew up near Athens, GA and graduated from Madison County High School in 1996. I attended Shorter College, then graduated and married my bride (Erin) in 2003. Together we have three kids; Rylan, Emalyn, and Aiden.

I am currently the Lead Chaplain for Grayson High School. I have been the Grayson Director of NG3 since January 2011. Prior to this, I was a student pastor at a local church for nearly four years.

Since I was 16, I knew that I would have a long “career” in counseling/mentoring students …I just didn’t know what that would look like. It’s what I’m passionate about, and it’s where I have the most experience. Being able to serve Grayson High School through NG3 is an incredible opportunity for me to do what I love. At the end of the day, I get to see students lives impacted and changed for the better.

At NG3, I’m very thankful that I get the opportunity to invest in the next generation.

Jason Thompson

NG3 Area Director – Northern Indiana & NorthWood High School Director

I currently serve as an NG3 Area Director in northern Indiana as well as the NG3 School Director at NorthWood High School in Nappanee, IN. I joined the NG3 staff in the summer of 2016. I have lived all but two years of my life in Elkhart County, Indiana. I grew up in a great family where faith and sports were a big deal. I spent my freshman year of college at Anderson University (Indiana) where I played football before finishing my degree at Bethel College (Indiana).

Before joining NG3, I spent 18 years in local church ministry.  My wife, Rachael, and I were married in 2002. We have two beautiful daughters, Haley (born in 2006) and Natalie (born in 2011). What attracted me most to NG3 was the opportunity to integrate three of my passions (faith, teenagers and athletics) into one opportunity. Really, to work with NG3 is a dream opportunity for me and my family!

Javier Munoz

NG3 Area Director & Parkview School Director

Born in San Diego, California I was raised by a single mother with my older brother. Faith, Family, and Sports have always been a large part of my life as I attended church regularly with my family and played multiple sports with and against my older brother.

In 2003 I moved from my hometown of San Diego, Ca. to Atlanta, Ga. to join a non-profit organization, The Fernando Foundation. Over the next four years I played an integral role in bringing hope, community and a competitive sportsmanship to disabled athletes through the sport of power soccer. After my time with the Fernando Foundation I spent the next three years with nation’s fastest growing school fundraising company, Booster Enterprises. While with Booster Enterprises, I spent many hours engaging students of all levels while leading teams to produce the highest results for their clients. With the many lessons learned through my life I hope to use all of my experiences to inspire the next generation at Parkview High School, just as my older brother and mentor, Jesse Muñoz, Jr., inspired me.

I believe that through NG3 I can make the impact that will lead to, students having strong character, communities that are united, and change that produces future leaders. I am a blessed husband to Lynneth Muñoz and a proud father of five wonderful children, Jade, Noah, Javier II, Shiloh and Josiah.

Wes Sorrells

NG3 Walton County Area Director

I am originally from Athens Georgia, and went to Georgia College in Milledgeville, Ga. I met my wife Ashley while in college. I have served as Youth Pastor at Milledgeville FUMC, Acworth UMC and Assistant Pastor/Youth pastor at Monroe for the past 6 years. I have a Masters degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. Ashley and I have three children, a 6 year old daughter (Avery) and twin boys that are 2 years old (Hudson and Hayes). I’m also the Walton County director of NG3. The focus of NG3 is to develop character in high school athletes and provide opportunities for spiritual growth. Our commitment is to build relationships, invest time in the lives of these young people, and lead them to serve (or impact) their communities in a positive way. NG3 staff work alongside athletic coaching staff to teach, mentor and guide student-athletes into becoming well-rounded men and women of character.

Derrick Heberling

NG3 Area Director & Brookwood School Director

Born in Lebanon, PA, I moved to New Hope, Mississippi at the age of 16. There I found a love for basketball and coaching. I was mentored by veteran coaches, and I was Varsity Assistant at New Hope High School for 4 years during my college career.

I met my beautiful wife, Brooke, and we started a new life together in Snellville, Georgia with our children Graham and Anna Blue. Brooke is a teacher at Brookwood High School, and we were a part of the pioneer team at 12Stone Church Snellville.

I taught and coached at many schools in Gwinnett including The G.I.V.E, Central Gwinnett, and also Hebron Christian Academy, but I have recently followed a God prompt to leave the teaching and coaching arena for an opportunity to pour into student athletes and coaches through NG3.

My family and I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to pour back into the community that gives so much to us.

Trey Hildebrant

Archer School Director

I was born and raised right here in Georgia. I graduated from West Hall High School in Oakwood, Ga, went on to get my undergrad degree from Truett McConnell College in Cleveland, Ga and a Master’s Degree from Luther Rice University and Seminary. My wife Sarah and I have two sons, Bear and Jude. I have the honor of serving NG3 on an additional time basis, but pastor at 12Stone Church | Snellville Campus full-time. I love God, my family, the church, making an impact on the next generation, coffee, and football (of course!). NG3 provides an an incredible opportunity to invest time and energy into seeing students at Archer High School grow in their character and relationships. I truly believe that students need more people, not just more programs. NG3 is a great pathway to seeing this truth play out in real life!

Jake Hansen

Cherokee Bluff School Director

I was born and raised in Braselton, Georgia, and for my entire life have been passionate about not only learning, but teaching others in order to strengthen those around me. This passion grew, and developed into a passion for the next generation. I have seen that high school is a very important moment in a persons life, and can determine the path an individual takes in the future. So upon graduating from Furman University in May of 2017 with a major in Religion I sought opportunities to build God’s kingdom, and strengthen kids and Young adults, and NG3 more than fit the bill. I am very thankful that I get to work with Cherokee Bluff High School, and build NG3’s mission alongside God’s Kingdom.

John Patterson

Charlotte Area Director

I was born in North Chicago, Illinois, and I moved to Lilburn, Georgia in 2008. I have to younger brothers,
Jace and David, and two amazing Parents who are Elders at New Mercies Christian Church in Lilburn, GA.
I was a two-sport athlete in high school, playing football and Track & Field, at Parkview. I also was a part
of YoungLife and a FCA Leader. I received multiple offers to go play football in college, and I chose
Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC. I was a 2 year starter at Inside Linebacker until I suffered a career
ending injury my junior season. Following the hardest thing I have gone through in life, I found peace in
Christ through a student led on-campus ministry my teammate and I started called “The Connection”.
My love for ministry and discipleship continued to grow, and I participated in an internship with Grace
Fellowship – Snellville and with NG3 at South Gwinnett High School during the summer of 2018. I loved
NG3 so much that when I moved to Charlotte, NC to start my Finance job at Wells Fargo, I was allowed
to continue part-time as a School Director here. God has opened up doors here in Charlotte, and I am
working with Myers Park High School now.

Aaron Williams

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga with immediate family in Ohio, Missouri and North Carolina. I am a husband to one, a father of four, a son of two, and a brother to many…. I was involved in sports from a young age, playing baseball, basketball, football as well as cross country team in high school. I was a player and coach for Team Under Armor on the mens adult competitive softball circuit after college. I attended Truett-McConnell College before transferring to Gwinnett Tech to work on my degree in Sports Management. I have worked in the sporting arena as community relations for both the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Vision. I used to run my own sports training company as well as baseball instructor and coach at Jack City Sports Center and Mountain View Athletic Association. I have many years of experience serving charities and ministries with such roles as Legislative Liaison for NAAF, Charity Sports Director for SPN, Mens Leader at Victory-Hamilton Mill, and Board Member for Leadership Johns Creek. I am excited about the opportunity to combine my passion with sports and ministry while pouring into the next generation and the community where I work, live and play.

Benji Cash

Monroe Area School Director

I grew up in Dacula, GA. My life revolved around our faith, family and baseball. I had the opportunity to play Division I baseball and also play professionally with the Kansas City Royals. In 2018 I married my beautiful wife, Grace, and we will be having our first son August of 2019. My wife and I are beyond thrilled and excited to be a part of NG3 and enter full time ministry. We have seen the Lord open and lead us through so many incredible doors, and we know this next chapter is right where we are supposed to be.

Jason Hughes

North Hall School Director

After teaching in Gwinnett for 10 years, my family and I have recently made the move to Gainesville, Georgia to teach and serve at North Hall High School. I have the distinct honor of teaching alongside my wife, Laura. In fact, we even teach the same math subjects! Laura and I are immersing ourselves in the North Hall community in order to serve the athletic programs and beyond. Along with our two boys, Luke and Owen, we are excited to be a part of this community and eager to see God move here.

Freddie Hart

South Gwinnett School Director

I have always been someone who has loved being involved in the transformation of the lives of the youth. I grew with 2 loving parents and 3 siblings. I also grew up in Gwinnett County where football was and is still King. I attended Parkview High School from 2010-2013 where I played football and threw Shot-put and Discus. I received my Bachelors and Masters from Shorter University where I also played both sports from 2013-2017.

I believe that knowledge that is not instilled in others is knowledge wasted. This is why I love working with NG3. It allows me to take what I’ve  learned in all levels of sports from a faith-based view and teach the athletes of the future to excel in all areas of life on and off the field.

Jordan Ickes

Triton School Director

Hi! I am pleased to belong to the NG3 team in Northern Indiana. I have an awesome family, with three great kids and a wonderful wife, Wendy. We are pleased to serve together in ministry. I am the minister at the Etna Green Church of Christ. I was raised in Michigan, so I cheer for the Lions and Tigers. I enjoy watching sports, but playing them is better!

I live in Indiana, so I’m trying to enjoy basketball more, but I really enjoy golfing with my wife, and with my friends. I love serving the church. It’s a joy to belong to a great church family here in Indiana, and its my passions to see more people come to find new life in the kingdom of God.
