Our partnership with the local church and faith community is vital to reaching the next generation.

what

The vast majority of our volunteers come from local churches, but it’s more than just wanting their volunteers.  We believe the local church is the hope of the world. NG3 is a high school only ministry. Meaning, when our students graduate and head off to college, we won’t be there.  The local church will. We must do a good job connecting students with local churches that have a heart to disciple the next generation.

This backbone of what we do at NG3 is the direct connection to the local church. We do not exist without their support and partnership.  Through church partnerships we are able to connect the faith community with opportunities to mentor and disciple kids from local high schools.

how

There are a number of ways for us to connect and partner with local churches.  The first is by supporting members of their congregation to volunteer as NG3 leaders.  The high school students don’t go to church because we tell them to. They go to church when someone they trust takes them.  For the students that are not a part of a local church, their NG3 small group leader is a bridge they have to a local church.  As relationships and trust begin to form between leaders and students, the NG3 leader is intentional about inviting their group to church. Their church. The more leaders a church has with NG3, the more opportunities there are to connect new students/families to their congregation. Simple as that.

Tangibly speaking, here a few ways we can partner with churches.

Church Prayer Partner - As a church, we ask that they pray for the local high school. Pray for the administration, staff and coaches. Pray that the students at the school have role models, mentors and leaders in their lives that can help make them game changers for the next generation.

Missional Church Partner - From the top down, the next generation isn’t just a department of their church, it’s the heartbeat.  This type of church understands that kids don’t need more programs, they need more people. Because of this, the message of going after the next generation is taught from the top down.  The lead pastor is behind the vision and on board with getting his people to volunteer and pursue local students.

PRAY FOR OUR SCHOOLS

This church partner gives missional money on a monthly or yearly basis to help offset the local NG3 budget in their community.  This type of partner can open up their campus for various event space, small group meetings and/or provide meals for those meetings. They help the NG3 School Director recruit some of their church members to be NG3 volunteers. These leaders meet with a group of students (approx. 8-12) every week for small group mentoring and discipling.  Our goal here is “life on life”. We will train volunteers on how to invest in the lives of students in a wholistic and meaningful way. We share the life with them and dig into God’s Word weekly. These groups happen off school campus.

Here are some examples of needs we would have if we were to start in your community.

  • $6000 funds a new school director for the year

  • $1500 helps fund small group meals for the year

  • $500 helps fund scholarships and program expenses for the year

Being a missional church partner is what NG3 needs more of. By being this partner, your church is making the statement that says you are about furthering God’s Kingdom both inside and outside the walls of the church.  We are trying to meet kids where they are and help create a bridge to the local church. Will you be one of the church partners that we connect these kids and their families with?
