Monroe Area NG3 School Director
As I prepare for this next chapter in my life, I reflect on the journey that has brought me to this point. My experiences in the US Marine Corps and especially in law enforcement have taught me valuable lessons about leadership, resilience, and the importance of community. Each encounter I had on the job reinforced my belief that positive role models can make a significant difference in the lives of young people. The transition from California to Georgia was not just a geographical shift (I retired from law enforcement after 20 years in 2022 and we moved out here); it was a spiritual awakening as well. The welcoming embrace of our new community at Graystone Church has invigorated my faith and commitment to service. It has been heartening to witness the impact of our ministry efforts firsthand. As Core Group Leaders at Monroe Area for the past two years, my wife Tina and I have seen the power of mentorship play out in real-time. The young athletes we work with are not just developing their physical skills; they are also building character and learning values that will guide them throughout their lives. Watching them grow in their confidence and faith is a reminder that we are planting seeds that will bear fruit for years to come. Tina and I are passionate about fostering an environment where our children—and all the youth we encounter—can thrive. We believe that by sharing our experiences, we can inspire them to pursue their dreams while grounded in faith and integrity. Our blended family, of 7 children between the ages of 12 to 24, has taught us the beauty of diversity and the strength that comes from unity, and we hope to pass these lessons on to the next generation. As I approach my (second attempt at) retirement from the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office (June 2025), I feel a sense of fulfillment and anticipation. I am eager to devote more time to NG3 and deepen my involvement in youth ministry. I am committed to being a source of support and encouragement, guiding these young students as they navigate the challenges of life. Looking ahead, I am excited about the opportunities that await us, both as a family and as a community. I trust that God has a plan for each of us, and I am honored to be a part of His work in the lives of the youth we serve. We are all called to make a difference, and I am ready to answer that call wholeheartedly.
